In 2018 my kidney function was down to almost 4% and I was put on dialysis. In 2019 I had a heart attack at the age of 34. I've been a type 1 diabetic since I was 14 years old and I didn't have the greatest control. Diabetes destroys everything, your heart, nerves. Everything.
Even the best diabetics still will suffer damage to everything.

This is where this album starts. I'd worked on a track or two here (on this album) off and on since the release of my last album Caution in 2019. Getting on a transplant list after a heart attack scares away a lot of potential transplant centers. Finally in 2020 I found the place I wanted to have a kidney/pancreas transplant and that was willing to take me on. I was put on the list in late 2021. Because of my age I was pretty high up on the list and because kidney/pancreas transplants are given priority over normal kidney pancreas transplants. Within a few weeks I received my first call for transplant. It didn't work out. Two weeks later I got the call and received the transplant. November 14th, 2021. It's been a long recovery, but after 21 years of diabetes, I am no longer a diabetic and I have a functioning kidney.

This album is the journey from when my kidney function failed all the way through today. I am finally living a "normal" life for the first time since I was a teenager. I am a new person.
